Content Alerts

Bring outside content to your community automatically: new YouTube uploads, Twitch streams going live, tweets, Reddit posts, and free game & asset giveaways, all posted to channels of your choice.

Overview

Each alert type has its own dashboard page where you add the accounts or sources to watch, pick the Discord channel for notifications, and optionally set a role to ping. Natsumi checks for new content in the background and posts rich notifications as soon as something appears.

  • Seven alert sources: YouTube, Twitch, Twitter/X, Reddit, Instagram, free games, free assets
  • Per-alert notification channel and optional role mention
  • Fully automatic: set it up once and forget it

API Keys

YouTube, Twitch, Twitter/X, Reddit and Instagram alerts run on your server's own API credentials. Each alert page has an API Credentials card at the top: create a key on the platform's developer site, paste it in, and Natsumi verifies it immediately. Keys are encrypted before being stored and are never shown again after saving.

This means your alerts run on your own quota, so another server's usage can never slow yours down or exhaust a shared limit. Until a platform's keys are added, its alerts stay idle.

  • YouTube A YouTube Data API v3 key from the Google Cloud Console. Free, 10,000 quota units per day.
  • Twitch A Client ID and Client Secret from the Twitch Developer Console. Free.
  • Twitter / X A Bearer Token from the X Developer Portal. X requires a paid Basic plan or higher for timeline reads.
  • Reddit A Client ID and Client Secret from a Reddit "script" app. Free.
  • Instagram Your own Instagram Business Account ID and a long-lived access token from Meta for Developers. Free.

YouTube Alerts

Watch any YouTube channel and get notified about new content. You can toggle each content type per alert:

TypeTriggers When
VideosA regular video is uploaded
ShortsA YouTube Short is published
LivestreamsThe channel goes live

Twitch Alerts

Add Twitch streamers to watch, and Natsumi announces when they go live, with the stream title, game, and a link. Perfect for community streamer shout-outs or your own go-live pings. Add your Twitch Client ID and Secret in the API Credentials card first.

Twitter / X Alerts

Mirror new posts from selected accounts into a Discord channel. Add your X Bearer Token in the API Credentials card on the Twitter Alerts page first.

Reddit Alerts

Follow subreddits and get new posts delivered to your server. Great for niche-community servers that want a feed of relevant discussions or memes. Add your Reddit Client ID and Secret in the API Credentials card first.

Instagram Alerts

Follow Instagram accounts and get new photos, reels and carousels delivered to your server. Add your own Instagram Business Account ID and access token in the API Credentials card first.

Only Business and Creator accounts can be followed. Instagram provides no API for reading personal or private accounts, so they cannot be watched by any Discord bot. This is a limit of the platform, not of Natsumi. Posts are read through your own Instagram Business account, which is why one is required.
